Andy --I played tuba in the modern world premier of this piece about 25 years ago in Belfast NI of all places. Danny Longstaff and Greg Morgan(?) were playing trombone.The part is reasonably busy and high.I played it on a B&H e-flat but was reluctant to blow it too hard because it 's a bit strong in that register. I remember thinking it would be good to have a smaller instrument to play it on.It's a good one for an F tuba I imagine but I've never had one. I also remember thinking it was an enjoyable piece to play .
