This is not a contest . . . I was posting a translation of the gag name that the Germans were using at that time - the one referred to by Chuck. I had heard it before as well and Googled it to check.
They jokingly referred to B&S as "Blech und Schrott" back in the day. I think that the name is still applied to the saxes and trumpets with the older crowd.
No additional riffing on B&S is needed, as I was just providing the translation to what Chuck posted. "Blech und Schrott" is pretty funny, if you ask me.
