If you think that teaching music is bad - think about all of the classroom teachers trying to force English, math, etc., down the throats of a bunch of knuckleheads every day.

A good (i.e., thoughtful, engaging and organized) teacher doesn't have to 'force' anything. That's not to say that there aren't knuckleheads out there (and there are certainly A LOT of crappy teachers - many of them just counting the days to retirement). The secret to teaching anything is to teach something that you like and have fun with it - when the kids know that you like what you're doing, they come along for the ride.
