Well, not really...

Trumpet players play much higher than tuba players. They exclusively use much smaller Dia. mouthpieces than we do. That should answer your question.

There's a lot of faf (nonsense) written about mouthpieces IMO.
In terms of the Dia., if you play the tuba, there are lots of mouthpieces of a middle-type size (say 32.5-33mm) and these suit most folk. Either side of those are mouthpiece diameters for folk with special needs; perhaps an unusual dental structure/lip scarring OR they might spend all their playing time in either upper (and go for smaller dia.) or lower (larger dia.) registers. These folk pick mouthpieces to suit their needs and so should you.

If you're a regular player with regular jaw & teeth, you should find a mouthpiece rim within the mid-sizes which you find comfy. Once you're happy enough, stick with it!

I think it's human nature that people find fault with their equipment when things go wrong and because of this, folks frequently switch mouthpieces (or instruments) a fair bit. Perhaps unsurprisingly, they also frequently end-up returning to whatever they first liked (or something very similar).
