You're in high school, right? Forget asking the internet world,
get a teacher, take lessons (an one hour every two weeks is good)
and work them THEM to improve your playing. Where do you get a teacher?
Having no idea where you live, its hard to recommend someone specific.
A good start would be to telephone the music department in the largest college or university in your state, and talking with the tuba teacher (or "low brass") and ask them for a reference for someone who teaches in your area.

Oh, but by all means, do not hesitate to e-mail someone from here whose advice seems sincere and speaks to that part of you that really in your heart of hearts wants your playing to improve. Sometimes it can be WAY confusing, but my young friend you're much more likely to get the improvement you seek within the context of applied lessons...since too oftent too MANY ideas can muck up your focus as a player. One thing's for sure, you are likely to get a LOT of different ideas here, but without knowing how you play, what your strengths and weaknesses are, or even without having heard you play a note...it'd be very challenging for anyone to advise you specifically on how YOU should approach your playing.

Best wishes,

dp
