Just About 2 years ago I bought a Gerhard Schneider 4 valve East German Tuba through Ebay. It cost $1250 U.S. and frieght was about $180.00. Play great as it should because I owned its older brother for 20 years and it played great. The horn was a trade-in from one of the University schools of Music to a large distributor in South Dakota, I believe it was called Central Music. They did a clean up and minor repairs before they shipped it out. Recently I also saw on Ebay another of these horns reconditioned by one of the Music shops and it sold for similar price. These were imported by Selmer for distribution to the schools are well priced and play great. The original design was of the old Alexander tuba. They look similar to the B&S almost identical to BBb tubas in the link below. By the way I'm 54. Robert
