Hey guys, I was just gonna let everybody know that I found a FANTASTIC new technique to capturing style and drama in pieces I am preparing... I just visualize scenes from Star Trek and make my phrases into certain characters. For example, when I'm playing something rough and in your face I often visualize myself as a klingon letting my pubescent juices loose. Then, if I want to present a more pensive and subdued side, I make myself into a vulcan and approach it from a more detached stand point. If I want to be ultra emotional, I see myself as Beta-Zoid councilor Troi.. The possibilities are ENDLESS!!! This is a great technique and I've already been able to tell a difference in my playing. Just the other day I played Introduction and Dance by Barat with such personality, such flair, I could barely even recognize it from my previous performances. Hope somebody else can get something out of this post!
Happy Trekking!!
