About 5 years ago I developed a removable peg that has a fitting t is soldered to the bottom bow of my EEb Besson. It is offset to compensate for the weight of the tuba, allowing both hands to balance and play it, rather than hold the weight, this freed up my breathing as well! It is also adjustable to cope with different chair heights.

More recently I have been using a B&S F and a Fafnar BBb, I’ve been using the sticky rubber matting with them both. It’s fine with the light F but I still end up with back ach and decreased air control after a long session. I’ve also tried the K&M stand, but got fed up of carrying it and readjusting it for each tuba if I’m using both.
I’m making revised versions of my peg to go on both the F and the BBb. I’ve had increasing problems with my left shoulder since I stopped using the tuba with the peg and have come to the conclusion that, for me the peg works best.
