I passed the Fleet band audition. I played March of the Marionette for my prepared piece. I was not accompanied. It involved a lot of sight reading but nothing that was really difficult. I personally would not even consider auditioning until you can pass the initial strength test. You can be the greatest player in the world but if you cannot handle the requirements of basic training do not waste their time. The eleven and a half weeks I spent on Parris Island was the most grueling situation of my life. There is nothing to separate what you do from the guy who is going to be a basic rifleman in the infantry. A marine is a rifleman first and then his other job second. Good luck,
