I throw in the towel on the deep breathing part. The "no time" aspect I discount. Even at a really slow jog you'll slog through two-three miles in 20-30 minutes and if you use my own slipshod approach to life you'll do it upon arising. Not usually prime tuba practice time. The overall mussculature effects are good, as bloke allows. I also maintain that the increased aerobic conditioning means you'll be far less liable to go lightheaded when playing those sustained passages you're capable of with the full breaths you take as no result of running. While fast laps in a pool really helps everything (and is a lot of work)running certainly helps a lot with tankless skin diving.
