Cool, I didn't know about a valve alignment tool.
I'm asking because I'm just starting as the horn repair guy for our ensemble (the US Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, if it can be labeled as an "ensemble"), and while doing an inventory of all the instruments, I found that some had felts of the wrong size. I've only been able to examine the high brass (their 1st valve is hard to see for sure, and no, there are no 3rd valves... not yet, anyway), and I'd like to get into the other voices to set things straight.
I'm gradually moving from barely competent to somewhat competent, so I want to start right.
