Oh, the Rode is satin silver. Did not mean to negatively compare everyone who likes AT822 to my X; but have found others in town who were not nearly so picky about the sound as I, leading me to believe that those whose hearing is starting to lose the ability to hear high frequencies, may not discern the difference I do.
And the Rode mike does appear to have pistons.....I'd find a url to send you to but I am just too darn lazy.
Do not have the equipment to quantify the difference, sorry. Maybe Monday I will have something to post if we get around to comparing on Friday.
