For the record, the differences between the S and "Pro" models are fairly small. The "Pro" model has more engraving than the S model. The "Pro" model's slides are also nickel plated while the S model's aren't. I also found that the sound of the "Pro" model was slightly brighter than that of the S model.
That said, you should definitely make the effort to visit and pick out the specific instrument you want. I did and I don't regret it. When I visited it came down to a toss-up between a 5 valve CC and a 4 valve BBb, both "Pro" models. Then Charlie told me that he had an exceptional BBb in the warehouse. When I tried that horn my decision was made! I was also able to have Charlie ship it to me later and avoid paying the sales tax. :-)
