All the above mentioned folks are great in their own right. To sit in the chair and do the job day after day, year after year, through good times and bad, is a real accomplishment, and shows a true love for the orchestral repertoire. To me Arnold Jacobs was a pioneer and the instruments we play on today, the approach, sound concepts, so much comes from his inspiration. Who was his inspiration?! Where did he get those great concepts? We all build on the legacy of our instrument. There are no doubt great young players we can't even imagine. Go here these people live in concert. That is what couts the most.

One more thing... Cut the immature gossip ( ie. Bobo in Amsterdam ). This is starting to look like the Tubaeuph list. Please!
