I agree with all the recommendations given to you except one. After playing professionally for 20 years, and playing CC, BBb, Eb and F tubas, I'm not convinced that anyone 'must' play a CC tuba. Each tuba has it's strengths and weaknesses. Before I bought my first horn, I played everything I could get my hands on, for comparison. If you know where you're going to school, check what they have available. It might be a valuable education in itself to really spend time with several instruments before purchasing. One point to consider- if you now play BBb, a really good BBb tuba is better than a mediocre CC tuba, and BBb's are generally cheaper. Best of luck in finding the right tuba!
