to greatly simplify cleaning the tuba, forget about the soap and just use warm water. That way you dont have to worry about getting it rinsed off real well. Another thing I do is take a snake (i had a trumpet snake) and snake that baby out after a good soaking. You might also get a hose, attach it to the shower head, and "power flush"
