The best all around horn is a 4/4 CC. I would recommend getting a 5-banger. Mirafone 186, Rudy Meinl 4/4, Hirsbrunner HB-2 or 2P, the 4/4 B&S's, Meinl Weston 2145 are all good choices. Play them all and purchase the horn that makes the sound YOU want to be making. Be sure to do this in conjunction with recommendations from your teacher.
