I am currently use a 44 on my PT6p and for me I would not change for the world. I have also tried at pt50 and pt48 on the horn and this is what I found out what happened. With the 50 and the 48 it gave me a big sound with and great punch in the low registar. However the high stuff was a little tough to manipulate and caused some accuracy problems with the beginnings of notes. The 44 however helped with the high end but if I put in a little work, the low end started to sound just like on the other mouthpieces. I also felt like I had more control of the color of sound with the 44 than the others. I think any mouthpiece used is a compromise, each piece will improve some aspects while making other things harder. I guess it is a matter of what things you want to work on and what things you want to be easier.
