My teacher and Indiana University told me about the opening before it was
officially announced. That was in 97. It's going to be a while to find 3
horn players to fill those positions.
I'm betting Mr. Herseth will be in that chair until he dies. He probably
can't imagine doing anything else, but I'm sure he won't mind traveling.
I believe he still practices 4 or 5 times a day at that 45min interval
he is famous for.
That's one of my new years resolutions (that I've already broken) is
to practice 4 or 5 times daily. I did that when I was auditioning and
it worked miracles.
On an added note, for those of you who think the military band may or
may not be the correct route; its fantastic. Farah.
