I have been charged for my PT-6 because the bell made it oversize. This only happens at small airports, and with Northwest Airlines. The best thing is to NOT fly Northwestern, (they have charged everyone I know, and they have gotten me several times) and to check it at the curb, if you can. If they charge, the standard fee to fly in the US is $50. Good luck!
