Since I saw this here in the Bulletin Board I would like to directly address this problem and give some information that are hopefully of some help:
The instrument that you refer to arrived here at the Wenzel Meinl factory in July 1999, just prior to our vacation in August. We received the o.k. to start the repair work upon our repair offer of July 16th, 99 finally on November 16th, 99 and advised a repair duration of approximately 3-4 weeks.
The current delay is due to the fact that after the repair and the lacquering, the instrument did not meet our quality control goals and had to be re-done. Please apologize for this delay and the inconveniences this might have caused - we want to make sure that the instrument arrives in Hong Kong in the quality that Melton/Meinl-Weston instruments are known for. The expected shipping date will be next week.
Your dealer received a copy of this information and will be updated about the delivery as well of course.
