In an episode of the Patty Duke Show, Patty wants to join an all-girl band. But the only instrument that has not been claimed is the tuba. So we see scenes of Patty desparately trying to play scales on a sousaphone in her bedroom. It seems that she did actually make some sounds on the horn, but someone else dubbed the "bleets" when she was off-camera.
Debbie Reynolds once appeared on the Mike Douglas Show playing "Hello, My Baby" on a fiberglass sousaphone--and dancing while she did it!
