For all you music fans who had not heard, the Philadelphia Orchestra has announced that Christoph Eschenbach will be the new music director for the group, replacing Wolfgang Sawallisch. Eshcenbach is currently the music director for the Houston Symphony and has a reputation for big brass, so it should be interesting to hear what sort of things come from the PO over the next few years.
