It a little know fact that the tuba was actually invented by PDQ Bach's youngest illegitmate son, Alphonso Goreo after a wild evening of debachary in a hot tub in Vienna. It is said that Alphonso, or Al as he was know by his contempories, had previously invented the Pipeophone, which was a brass instrument some 40 feet long. As he was going home after the famous night, he was playing the Pipeophone and not watching where he was going and ran smack into a hugh woodpile. The result was that the Pipeophone was twisted into coils. Needing a name, Al thought of the evening he had spend frolicing in the hot tuba and decided that his new instrument would be the tubaphone. This was later shortened to make it easier to write about on the internet. Many people incorrectly think that the wood pile Al ran into was the Vienna Woods, but the Vienna Woods live in a completely different part of the city and were no where near Al that night. Unfortunately, there are few of us that are aware of the true origin of our beloved tuba.
