In the gig bag on the bell, not on anything uneven like arbans books or empty bottles of Jack Daniels. My old locker at school was made of wood, so I added a couple of screw in loops and used a couple of bungies just to be safe. I had tuba, euph and bass bone in a small space.
Be sure to consider security of your tuba locker. i.e. who else has a key. add your own padlock if that is an option.
