Perhaps the reason that Hirsbrunner is being left off the list is the precipitous decline in quality that took place when they changed the design of the 4/4 from the HB2P to the HB21. The HB 21 has some serious issues that, in my opinion, do not warrant entertaining the idea of paying more than $12,000 for that instrument.
I don't think that anyone has a particular axe to grind with Hirsbrunner... it just seems as though the marketplace is beginning to produce better quality instruments at better prices.
