Regarding the "other" York, the story that I have heard is:
When York went kaput, they had their original "model" (fabrication "practice" instrument / 3D model) in the plant for the Donitelli/Jacobs York.
The University of Oklahoma bought that instrument.
When Mr. Jacobs discovered its existance and location, he had to have it, and the University of Oklahoma agreed to sell it to him.
