Hi everyone~!
I have to play euphonium in an ensemble, and unfortunately I have let my euph chops go... for awhile. When I sit down to play, I get this wavering thing in my sound. it has happened to me on tuba too, but none of the conventional methods seem to correct the problem, (i.e. using more air, etc.). Any ideas? I don't think it has anything to do with doubling, I played tuba, euph, and bass bone all last year and never had a problem on euph. (The wavering has gone away progressively on tuba, and I don't get it when I try to play my bass bone.) Could it be getting reoriented to the euphonium? I am switching bass tuba mouthpieces, maybe I am just trying to do too much at once... (I also have a new euph mouthpiece, but the problem is the same on both the new and old mouthpieces.)
Thanks in advance for any help!!
