I don't know what the BEST slide grease might be. Do you pull your slides while you play? Do you allow your slides to sit in one position for a long time. I own a trumpet (soprano tuba) that sat in a closet for twenty five years without the slides being moved and when I tried them, they were as smooth as when I put it away. I used Selmer's Tuning Slide and Cork Grease. It comes in a small plastic bottle and looks like pink goo. I have used it on my horns, my children's horns, and my grandchildren's horns (more than twenty instruments) and have never had a slide stick. There may very well be a superior product introduced in the last quarter century, but I have felt no need to change.

Hope this helps, Jim Tyler
