Never played the Yamaha, so I can't compare the two, but if you decide to ge for the Besson be sure to get a relatively new one, as they redesigned the 994 a while ago (1 or 2 years?) and the difference in playing is unbeleivable. A brass band I used to play for had two old and two new ones, and as well as a few visible differences (the wrap has changed slightly) the new one was a LOT less stuffy in the compensating register.
