There was no difficulty in the slides being the wrong length for the different partials. This can be avoided by adjusting the taper. You are correct that such can happen as it did in the Yamaha compensating BBb tuba. It was so bad that a, ab, and g in the bottom of the staff were unusable without cutting down the first and second valves slides. Then one had to pull them for all the other uses of 1 or 2.
There is no such trouble on the King-Gronitz as it was eliminated in the design process. The instrument works as it should.
