The large York that was made for Donatelli was/is a specialty instrument. I'm sure that the York company did their very best, but the instrument turned out better than they could have possibly anticipated.

If I owned it, I (Should this be obvious?) wouldn't drag it around and use it in many playing situations, even though it is extraordinary. For the speciality purpose for which it was made, it is extraordinary because one doesn't (with all due respect to the two men who have done very great things with it) have to blow it very well for the thing to "do" well, and

ANYone (most anyone) would have noticed that.
