Some folks have a more diffcult time switching than others. I played my school Miraphone BBb until midway through my freshman year in college and then switched to a CC Piggy. The transition was slow for me because I didn't want to just put away the BBb....I auditioned into the Wind Ensemble and I wasn't confident enough on the CC. My advise is if you are certain you are going to college that fall and you find a good horn,get used to the new one before getting to college. You will be more comfortable in rehearsals and lessons if you are comfotrable on the horn.
