I made the switch about a month ago, and I can tell you what Mark said about scales is right on. Hopefully you've got scale patterns down (I've been playing brass for 9 years, so I was lucky enough to). Just use the fingering pattern while looking at the scale (chromatic is important, but don't start out with it). Eventually you're going to get bored of the scales, and you probably won't be master of the CC yet. At this point switch to some very basic etudes/excercises.

The first few hours of practice are terrible, but it gets better fast. I'd say two weeks is a reasonable amount of time to learn the new instrument. Every once in a while I run into trouble and go back to BBb with stuff that is a combination of low, difficult key, and fast.I haven't touched or thought about BBb in the past month, and I don't plan on it until I have a need to.

Best of Luck,
Joey Silva
