BUT I recommend (if it seems at all musically appropriate, or possible to get the "gear") creating the same effect electronically.
I once tried a (trombone player) friend's bass (designed for electric bass) waa-waa foot pedal, I used it with my usual microphone set up and it was enormous fun. But this would only be appropriate for an "electric" gig, unless the volume of the amplification could be extremely subtle.
