Oh, speaking of S&SF, the coolest way (that ive found) to exercise your chops is to play the piccolo part at the trio. Theres enough octave jumps and trills and everyhting to get you worked up pretty good!
It also makes the flute section's jaws fall flat on the ground :-)

ps, The Northwinds symphonic band here in Georgia used this as a tuba feature at their performance a few years ago at jan fest. Has anyone else ever done this? I'm trying to convince my director (tubist int he northwinds) to let us do it at our spring concert.
