Tim, at what point in your life did you decide to do this?
And did you have to go back to school for any additional hours (as in education) in order to do this?
I know quite a few ex-band directors who quit fairly early for economic reasons, but I also knew some who stayed on and have managed to enjoy life in the process.
I think about "other career options" from time to time, but I'm an applied music major with NO education hours whatsoever. Not insurmountable to go get them in summer sessions, however, if that the road I decided to take.
I however, have been out of college a lot longer than the 12 years that Marty mentioned.
