To say you can no longer develop musically on a particular horn is to say you can no longer develop musically. Most of us strive to make the technical aspect of playing routine so we can go beyond them. You should now be able to truly focus on the music.
Switch horns because you've found a CC tuba you like or for the more traditional. Most of us play better when we first switch equipment, but hit that plateu again.
Have you condsidered adding an Eb or F tuba to compliment your Mirafone?
My opinion FWIW.
