your definition of professional is my definition of a good musician. in the pro world, those things are expected. Being a pro means you are doing this thing of music for your career. If you dont make the bulk of your income from the trade, then you are not a professional musician. This does not mean you can't be a great musician. The showing up on time, and nailing your part, and playing in tune...thats part of the gig. dont do these things and you wont even be a part time musician.
