Love the way you did this. I played in Texas at college to Jesus Christ Superstar. The tuba player got sick and I got to sub for a short time.
I buzz on and off the MPC to warm up and if you really want to learn a piece get a tuner out and buzz it. It solves alot of the really hard technical passages for me to work it out this way.
