I owned my own BB-flat, I got it in eighth grade. However, if I had known then what I know now, or had a tuba teacher, I would have definitely bought a CC horn! However, I played the same solos at solo and ensemble (A level) as kids playing CC tubas, and got just as high of scores. It is definitely the player, not the horn, I really believe that. (IMHO, I played better in high school than I do now 10 years later! But that was my work ethic and before the concept of natural talent ran out (; )
