CD production screwup?

I just experienced a strange CD screwup, and wonder how common it is.

Brand new CD, purchased "from the artist" at a performance.

Get it home and...no music. My audio CD player claims that it has one track, 37 seconds long - and produces absolute silence when it tries to play it. My computer, on the other hand, finds a PDF file, with a rather interesting document...but no music.

Clearly a screwup by the production house, no? Double checking, the CD has the appropriate artwork on the "flip side"

The good news (for everyone here) is that it's not a tuba CD. I'm following up with the artist involved, and don't see much point in splashing the name of the CD or the artist in public. But, I'm interested in knowing if anyone else has had anything similar happen.

Identify the artist and the album and I'll buy you a beer at TUSABTEC!
