I've got a Conn Helleburg 7B. All the students from our nearby university were using it in our municipal band, so I got one to use on my old King souzie. I got so frustrated with my tendency to frack above D that I was ready to throw the horn out or sell it to someone to use as a boat anchor. Then I used a Bach 24AW and it was like a new horn.

There's more to this story. My second horn is a junker Couesnon. (About the same shape as the one that just sold on E-bay) It sounded "dead" with the Bach, so I tried the Conn Helleburg, and the horn came to life.

So MY personal moral to the story is that a mouthpiece that doesn't work on one horn may work on another. Plus, mouthpieces are much less expensive than tubas, so it's easier to build a collection.......
