Actually I am a german resident, and taxpayer, although I am american. I've seen the TE prices listed, and I think even with the 16 percent which is included in the price, I'd do better than paying the US prices plus state tax. I also would be inclined to play them and pay the money to the person who has the best one for me regardless of where that may be. Right now, I live in NYC and flying to California feels just as far as Germany. As far as traveling goes though, I'm surprised more people on this board don't talk about going to Europe to pick out their horn, and in every case I know of, save money and get a free trip.
