My first tuba was a 4 valve Eb Yamaha..... it was good.... then later I got a Besson, which was great and I think I even liked IT better than the shiney new yamaha I had played before. The Besson was really old, and the only problem was the sounds would kinda fall of the edge of the bell an plummet to the ground instead of "filling the room" kinda thing....

Now I finally got my own tuba, and biased as I am, I almost have to say its the best one I've had. It's an oldie, its a Buscher Eb 4 valve, and it rocks... :) It's almost like the Besson I had but better, the bell is bigger and the sound carries better than it did with the Besson:)

That's my story really, 3 tubas that stand out, I've tried a couple of sousaphones, I really don't like sousaphones much.

And from now on it'll be my Buscher wherever I go :)
I love it:)
