Did Mahler add tuba to his Beethoven?

Anyone know if the Mahler retuschen of the Beethoven symphonies employ tuba anywhere? Just curious? I know that Leonard Slatkin recently did the entire Beethoven/Mahler cycle in D.C. I do know that Mahler added a second set of tympani.
