the 1258 is compensating and make sure it is and the older ones had shorter valves than the later ones. The older 1258's valves are a little over an inch shorter.
the non compensating euphs are 1255's, be sure to look on the back of the valves and make sure there are the extra set of tuning slides back there.
The newer ones are a little more in tune and more open.
The new euph is 2 1/2 inches longer and about 1 inch wider than any other euphs.
