The original post simply sounds like he's asking if people have experience with the piece sound absolutely fine without the mutes...and it does. His post never says that he thinks it sounds better with a mute, as you are assuming ("Copland my be a better judge of...his music than you are.")

It's a good question, as many people do not have access to a tuba mute, let alone two -- plus two euphonium mutes. I, for one, never appreciate the advice on TubeNet that is put forth in a rude manner. And there's no doubt that you've done that here. Just let the kid ask his question...and let more decently polite people answer his post.
