They are silver-soldered. Be careful of the heat required--it can deform the casing.

If the solder you use has a color you don't like, you can use some of the spot-silver repair stuff. It's no good for contact areas, because it wears off nearly instantly, but it might work fine for a place like this that never gets touched after ragging. Rag first, then apply the stuff--that would be my approach.
