Years ago I heard Arnold Jacobs playing a note that seemed to go on forever in one of Tschaikowsky's Symphonies. I think Symphony No. 4. I believe the note was in middle of the tuba range and was quite audible in the orchestral setting. And at this time in Arnold Jacob's life, I believe he only had one lung. I ask others to correct me, if I am wrong.
